Pink Saltire are the local charity supporting LGBT people in Fife since 2014.  Our ambition is to improve the representation, visibility and opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people all over the country.  We operate from our base at The Hive LGBT Centre in Kirkcaldy.

Research conducted by our charity have shown that the LGBT community have low levels of trust in service providers, just 19% saying they trust public services to meet their specific needs. This is reduced further amongst young people and the transgender community. Low levels of trust can often be down to negative previous experiences, or the perception of discrimination or stigma which still exists for our community.

We continue to be a strong voice for LGBT+ people in Fife.

The Hive has a range of spaces available in this first phase of their development, including recording studios, meeting rooms, a library, exhibition zone, hot desks for hire, community cafe, a free food pantry, information and signposting to other services and groups in the region.

Connexons LGBT Fife - this social group meetings fortnightly on Monday evenins from 6pm til 8pm at The Hive in Kirkcaldy.  The group is established for any LGBT+ adult, age 18 and over, to socialise and engage with other community members.  The group often arrange activities, outings, arts and crafts nights, movie nights and a warm welcome is always guaranteed. Drop in for a cuppa at our next meet!

Rainbow Kingdom programme - this new programme supported by The Scottish Government's Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund has successfully launched in April and comes to a close in September 2022. The programme mixes coaching, social activities and taster events to help reduce isolation and promote better mental health and wellbeing amongst LGBT+ people. The programme has included activities like gardening with Grow West Fife, fused glass art workshops with Banana Glass Leith and pebble painting with My Little Pebbles - all aimed at improving our wellbeing and mental resilience.  We hope to continue this programme for Year 2 shortly.
